After breeding Silkies for a few years they weren't the bird for me. But it was a fantastic adventure, LOTS of learning!

Have you already got stock you are working with? And do you have personal goal for your flock? How are you currently set up? Adding your general location to your profile will help folks make the best suggestions possible at a glance.

Once I learn your current goal and thought process... I will focus my tips and tricks as I can get a little... um... detailed.. but with the mind of a healthy over thinker... so maybe too much.

They do better in cold than heat. Need shade and cool water, sometimes fans down in Georgia. Otherwise they are like every other chicken. Sweet tempered, broody like crazy, good mothers, soft and fluffy.
