So we have a broody Ancona duck who has been incubating 7 eggs for a couple weeks. They are pretty far along, but not fully formed yet. We didn't mean for them to get this far, we have been trying to break the hen's broodiness for over a week now. I would like to know a quick and easy way to kill the ducklings painlessly. If possible, I would rather there be no blood involved. If we could find a home for the ducklings that would be even better, if there is anyone in Iowa willing to take up to 7 Ancona ducklings.

I would appreciate any help I can get!

The eggs have been developing for 7 days?

Why would you let her keep the eggs for weeks if you were trying to break her...? This is just cruel- you let this bird get this far into brooding, just let her hatch her clutch. You can start looking for homes for the ducklings now or keep them. This is something you have to think of and plan for... before there are lives at stake.

Here in Florida you have to pick up the eggs "before" they start sitting on them or it's too late these are ready to hatch! you really should give them a chance at life and try to get them homes=theres babys on the way pretty sure you can find homes for them everybody love ducklings

One more question, should they be a certain age when they are adopted? I don't want to end up giving them away when they are too young.
