We are currently expecting 4 days of rain, remnants of Delta, so I decided to quickly figure out a way to cover our run so it won't become too much of a mudfest. I'd been meaning to come up with a permanent method as we get closer to winter; but I decided to try this quick fix for the coming days. I dug out an old shower curtain liner and, using some twine, I tied the metal grommets of the liner to the hardware cloth of the run where it attaches to our elevated coop. (Our coop and attached run are small because we only have 3 chickens and that's all we need. No 'chicken math' for us.)

Works great; it's been raining fairly hard for hours and the ground in the run is dry. We are not having any wind now, so that helps. Not sure what will happen if there are strong winds in the future, but it is quite well secured so it definitely won't blow away. It may blow out of position but not entirely off. I may get a heavier gage shower liner and see how that does.
