Hey everyone, I’ve got a quick question. Can I give watermelon to my ducklings? They are only three days old at the moment, I give watermelon to my adult ducks as a treat, they love it so much. Any advice is very helpful. Thanks!

My chicks absolutely LOVE watermelon, and fruit for the most part is a safe treat. (I'm pretty sure your not supposed to give them citrus, but most other fruits are fine)
I love how the watermelon is soft (easy to eat) and hydrating for my little chicks.
As for ducklings, I'm not totally sure but I would assume it would be very similar.

I'd say it's okay but not every day it may cause too loose poop. My flock eats rind and all. :) Try them on a small amount since they are so young. You don't want them filling up on watermelon and not eating their crumble.

Thanks for the responses. I have been giving watermelon to my adult birds for a while now. I was just a little worried about giving it to my ducklings. I might give them very tiny pieces in a couple of days once their a little bit bigger. I know they would love it :)
