Hi there and welcome to BYC!What will a SL/GL Wyandotte cross
or GL Wyandotte/silkie
or SL Wyandotte/silkie look like?
Thanks I'm new to breeding I have breed two silkie chicks with both parents being the same their white with feathered feet and I'm not sure if they are bearded, and I have male and female GL Wyandottes and only female SL Wyandottes, and I don't really know the chances for breeding, but I got impure silkies cause I got them for my b day from ebay.Hi there and welcome to BYC!
I believe it depends on if which parent is carrying the silver.. as it can be sex linked.. example gold male over silver female will be sec linked but the opposite will not.

First generation Silkie crosses will all be hard feathered.. bred back to Silkies will produce Silkied offspring.
Bred back to each other will produce a % of Silkied offspring.. maybe 50/50.. it's been a long time so my numbers may be slightly off. Please double check/verify information ALWAYS.
In general.. crest, beard, 5 toes, and feathered legs are dominant features... I THINK.
So what you would end up with would likely be some Silkie cross looking medium sized birds.. dark eyes, SMALL crest. It's often obvious when Silkie has been crossed in. You might also have some fun adventures!
Silkies don't improve genetics regarding egg laying size or rate, foraging, table size, predator awareness, feed conversion, or anything else.. so for me.. crossing Silkies is doing the flock/other birds a disservice. People calling them Satin is misleading and I highly doubt they breed true. And their attitude is FAR from the friendliest of breeds. So IF having a sustainable long term flock was part of MY goal.. I would NOT do Silkie crosses.. If that's irrelevant and it's all for fun.. then Silkie cross on!
