Quick Structural Q for the Construction-Challenged

I'm gathering my wood for my chicken coop plan. Still trying to decide between 4'x4' and 4'x5' for the dimensions. I've only done crafty stuff with wood, not built structures, so I have a question pertaining to the structural integrity of the coop: For the posts and frame that will raise the coop 2.5' off the ground and support the floor, is it okay to use 2x4s or should I really be using 4x4s? Thanks in advance!

Also, I have some 2x6s...would that work for the posts and frame for lifting the coop off the ground and the platform for the floor?

use 4x4's for the base... 2x6's are more than u need for floor framing.. 2x4's are fine, flooring,, if you want it to last, use 1/2 plywood and cover that with linoleum (easy clean out).
