Like I said before, my Granny told me when I wasn't but 3 or 4, not to get attached to dinner. Kids can handle the truth much better than folks give them credit for. Don't let the government trick you into thinking the need counseling when their pets die, or get cooked. Kids need to know from day one, that death is a part of life and seeing it drives that point home. They will be more careful as they grow up when they realize they're not immortal. Actually living on a farm and seeing things killed and eaten is probably the best way to teach that life lesson. Good luck!
