So, I have never questioned the health of any of my chicks. But my inside fellas are worrying me. They just don't 'peep' much anymore. They peep a lot when they are eating and drinking but otherwise they are just hanging out, scratching in the bedding or sleeping. My first batch seemed to chatter non stop (of course, there were twice as many the first time) three 2 week old BOs, three 3 week old EEs.

Should I be concerned? Temp is good.

I have 5 in the brooder and they are on and off. Sometimes loud as heck and other times nary a peep. They get louder when someone walks by cuz they think they are going to get let out. As long as they are eating and drinking, not too hot or cold and active when they're not sleeping, I think they are OK. Congrats!

It seems to me that the more comfortable the chick, the quieter the chick. Maybe you have gotten better with this second batch. LOL
If everyone is eating and drinking, I wouldn't worry.

My first batch (12) just chattered non stop, so that became 'normal' to us. These 6 only chatter early in the morning, and then sometimes I hear a loud peep when someone is being chased I assume, lol. My husband asks all the time, "Are those chicks alive in there?" lol, Because we just rarely ever hear them in the laundry room. I wondered if maybe they were depressed or something.

My 3 are in the laundry room too and I have to go and check to make sure all is well. Seems they only peep up a storm while eating/drinking. Im happy if they are happy! I hear none stop peeping gets old really fast!!!

Yes, it was cute at first with my first batch. But by the time they were 3 weeks old, at 4am when they were ALL chatting....it was loud. Really loud. Like, waking my kids up kind of loud! I was happy when they went out.

When I first got mine they peeped their little heads off, and the first few times they were silent I had to go check on them to make sure that they were still OK. Now, they are silent most of the time, or at least what occasionally sounds like soft contented peeping, unless one is annoyed and does her loud angry peep. But I hear lots of running around the cage. Mine will be a week old tomorrow!

They also seem to be asleep most of the day, and only really chatting around midnight...
