Quilt Block Swap for January 2010

I'm working on a star pattern quilt for my daughter. Queen size no less. I kept second guessing the cuts from the templates up to a point to where my blocks were shrinking! I had four blocks that I couldn't use because of that, but I think I'll somehow use them in the corners of the quilt. I made 25 of those blocks and some were still a little "off" but I'm using them anyhow. Like someone said - it adds a little character or charm. I'll buy that!

Luna, your block is on it's way

hope you like it

Patches, I just got my chicken block and I love it. All those hand stitches....... you're really brave! Forget the quilt, I'm gunna frame it and hang it in my sewing room! I like things like that. Thanks again Deb.

CedarRidgeChicks, did I tell you I got my block last week? Sorry if I didn't but I love it and maybe someday I'll have my blue and white quilt. Thank you so much.

Cluckin'Along I know what you mean about the local hawk watching the chickies. I have one of those too.

Clucky-I am so glad you like it. I really love doing applique. Though I am not as good at it as I'd like to be. The eggs are a little rumply!

I worried about the background fabric, it is sort of a slightly heavier muslin than plain old unbleached.....would it be too heavy to put into a quilt do you think? If the other blocks weren't the same fabric?

Thanks for the kind words. I love how supportive everyone is of one another on this project.

Patches, I do love it and my DD does too. No, I want to frame it for my sewing room. I think it is just meant for that. I can't imagine how tiny your applique stitches are and so evenly spaced.
I know, everyone on here is great and a lot of help. This is my first forum with sewing swaps and I am having a great time. I'm sure you will too.
