I was talking to a really incredible person they other day, and one of the things we discussed was comparison. He explained it with something similar to the second quote, but it was not long after that I read Theodore Roosevelt's quote which perfectly summed things up.

'If I where to explore the most incredible mountain range in the world and I saw the most beautiful mountain first, I would disregard all of the others as simply not as great. So, perhaps it is best to forget the favorites, cause comparison does not show is gratitude."
