Many moons ago, two friends and I went into Chicago for a taping of the Oprah Winfrey Show. They were doing two shows that day, taping for later broadcast. When my friend called for the tickets, they only told her the show would be about mentors. Imagine my surprise when inside the studio we found out it was Alice Walker and Maya Angelou that were the guests. I still have the VHS tape of the show. Maya was wonderful. I read "The Heart of a Woman" just last summer. Her life is a history lesson.
