Blooie, Thank you for the heads-up!! I'd rather know about things ahead of time!! When you posted to focus on my driving when heading down there and on the family once I got there, I didn't get to read that until after I was there. Boy, I told my daughter, that it was such good advice...even if I didn't get it until later. I did find myself being distracted from my driving while thinking of the kids. I made sure to pass along your advice to my DD and SIL when ever they were going back and forth and kept it in mind when I was coming home. There is no better teacher than experience and we can all learn from the experiences of others. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, compassion and prayers.
Overall, the take away from the doctor was that he has just over a 95% chance of full recovery and zero long term effects.

This is very good news.
I know everyone wants to get right on it, but I am sure Kyle will appreciate the breather.
Thursday will be here soon and he will be continually in our thoughts.
Please keep up the progress reports.

as always.)
We are so thankful for the prognosis and for all the people who have lifted Kyle up! There have been times in the past when I wondered what is the world coming to, and thought it isn't good at all. I know through this experience that there are so many kind, caring, wonderful, compassionate people in this world and despite what many would have us believe, we are not going anywhere in a handbasket!

You are very welcome. I debated about mentioning it for fear I would be giving you just one more thing to worry about, but as Jenna found out when Ashley first started having the eye issues, even if it never happened she wished she would have known to watch for it.

I have found the same thing. I am ever the optimist anyway (unless it's one of my grandkids who is having problems) so I really tend to see the good in people more than the bad. And I see a lot of good in people here and in the other forum I love to visit.

the world is a pretty jacked up place, it's just that fowl people, make it better.

Thank you for your continuing prayers!! Kyle update from about an hour ago:

Well today was Kyle's scheduled first day of chemo. Instead we had 30 minutes of confusion and frustration. Long story short... The hospital got results and wanted to start treatment right away. Unfortunately it was a holiday weekend so nothing was processed with our pediatrician which resulted in no referrals. So no chemo today. The only thing we did was meet with the doctor about his treatment plan and the drugs that will be used. Overall, the take away from the doctor was that he has just over a 95% chance of full recovery and zero long term effects. The other take away is that Kyle will have other prescriptions to take that we didn't really think of like nausea medicine and anti-infection medicine. In addition one side effect is nerve pain where he might need a higher pain killer medicine. That was a little shocking but manageable.
Assuming all insurance needs get taken care of in the next couple days... Kyle's first chemo treatment will now be Thursday... Which he is happy about because this was the easiest doctor visit ever for him.

We will keep you posted.
95% chance of recovery is wonderful!! I'm so happy for you all

I hope the follow-up treatments will go smoothly for the brave little man and all this will soon be a thing of the past.
