Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

Makes two of us, Kim. I was up until midnight with an unhappy chick, after a rough day. Thankful to that pup for looking worse than me this morning!

Chick ok now? I've been midnight a couple of nights this week then still wide awake at 5am :barnie

I'm ushering birds in at 10pm so I can get to bed!! Love the longer days but they do have some downsides!! Just started throwing it down with rain again so they may head in a little earlier tonight :fl

Charlie got an extra day off school tomorrow, school just text. Travellers have moved onto the school site and set up camp. Right now they are ploughing the school field up on quad and motorbikes :(

Quote: No, the little one didn't make it. Mom's a bit of a klutz and keeps stepping on them and misplacing them. I'm still getting to know her, OUR local travellers decided earlier this week to bring her and 11 chicks to me and me being the original chick addict couldn't say no. Oh, she's an Aseel x Irish game, so you can imagine. A friend that breeds games warned me Aseels are "a handful"... Handful of bruises more like! lol

We also had rain and free ranging fowl until about 10pm here.

I would not be able to say no either :hide

Sorry about the little one :hugs I know you will have given it your all to save the little one. The hen sounds like a feisty little creature. The girl who takes my cockerels in has a trio of game and they sure are beutiful but she said "don't poke your fingers in or they will have you!!" I kept my hands to myself!!

Awww, I'm so sorry for your loss. :hugs

Thanks Kim and Nicky. I was a bit bummed when I got up this morning and found it passed.

Kim, they are interesting birds for sure. I'm learning as I go along here. Had a spot of drama with the other game (OE LF) hen's young ones yesterday evening about 9pm I was treating a half-scalped little cockerel after his brother started sparring with him. All of 2 months old… But they're o.k. with me, mostly. The Aseel x hen was a bit unfriendly with me at first and wowee that thing can peck a punch, but I had a word with her and she didn't try it again.
