I get down on myself when I overhear the hummer driving investment banker complaining about the price of food, and I am just relieved to keep shoes on our feet...

I know that God loves a garden, because he built that first.

I just have to shake it off and re appreciate how much better I know I have it,- than the unhappy hummer driver. There is a satisfaction to sit down to a meal you grew and prepared yourself.

And I was thinking: the quote about lies and truth.
Lies get people where they think they want to be; people who tell the truth, we do it for others as well as ourselves. Truth is altruistic. It is the foundation of society.
Farmers think about the big picture. Not just their own little picture. It is not that we should not lie because we do not want to be lied to, it is that we do not lie because a lie never ends, it unravels things we never realized that were knitted together to begin with.
lying is pointless.

...unless you have a horrid dress on and then I will bite my tongue or complement your hair, and if the point is pushed -and you obviously love your dress, then I do too.
