Thanks Jan! I'm going to try that this year. Sevens dust didn't made a dent last year on the squash bugs.True. Nicotine is a serious poison.
Add a bit of dish washing liquid to it and you have bug death in a bottle.

Do you use anything to keep the bugs at bay? Here's a tip from the old farmers almanac, get a pack of chewing tobacco and put it in a gallon of water and let it soak for an hour or so then strain it off into a spray bottle and apply it to the plants. They say it will keep the bugs off. Better then 7 dust because its natural.![]()

I spent yesterday reading up on bees, today...I plan.![]()
Oh. My bee garden is all flowery. I keep forgetting my camera. But I will share as soon as I remember!
Quote: True Bugs have a waxy coating that will protect them from things getting in. The thing that works is the soap. It breaks the surface areas around the spiracles, and the liquid can get into their body when they breath. I do not know if it poisons them or they just drown, but a bottle of soapy water is what I use in the house when I see a roach. I try to avoid the poisons when I can.

I hope everyone is enjoying there morning! Monday night we had a terrible storm when I was driving home and it was flooding in some roads.
Glad you made it out of the flooding alright! That had to be frightening.
