Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

My son's birthday is on the 20th of July. When caught unawares his dad still asks me when is his birthday? The 21st? It's a running joke in the family by now. I usually say to him I was the one on drugs that day, if anyone should be confused about the dates, it's ME! (The doctor didn't tell the nurse he gave me shot of some morphine based painkiller just before she did… Or maybe it was the other way around? Either way, I was so goofed, I took one look at the baby and passed out)

Oh man... I had an emergency c-section after 37 or something hours of labour... Any way I passed out shortly after see him as well... Probably the last time I slept 7 hours in a row! Lol

You got the hair right!

This is how my husband sees me:

I can totally see this, Sumi.

My first was here so fast after the whirlpool tub visit-no time for drugs with him. He was supposed to be born on my birthday and I told doc no way is he gonna have to share his day. I promised to be at the hospital first thing the next morning - to be induced.
My youngest, yeah she took her sweet time and exhausted me to the point they gave me demerol so i could rest up, (maybe they knew what she was up to?)
and 2 hrs later she was a screaming banshee and has never stopped. Merida is her doppleganger. LOL
She came into this world knowing exactly who she is. Lucky girl, it took me years.
ever

Quote: Ditto, except I went on and off for 2 WEEKS. A friend of mine dragged me off into the middle of nowhere here to this ancient midwife, she must've been 90 at least, but whoa, that woman doesn't take nonsense from a baby bump? I knew I was in trouble when she tossed the mattress off the bed and told me lie down on the planks, "you must not get comfortable" she told me… By the time she was through with me baby was turned the right way round and dropped and ready to deliver. (And I ached all over!) Sadly it didn't last. So I went back to the doctor, C-section. Craziness, but wow, when I saw him it was all worth it!

I think we better stop with our childbirth stories before we worry Bill

Sumi,
Change is scary, but it is also exciting.
It might not be easy, but it will be an adventure!
I am living vicariously through you, go get 'em!

oh, and i will require pictures.

I'm really exited and really scared at the same time. It's quite a combination, so I'm very emotional at the moment. We've been planning this for more than a year now and had to postpone it a few times, we've hit bump after bump and got to a point where I honestly thought we are never going to get there. Now it's suddenly becoming very real and it's great and it's scary. I'm doing something crazy, but I keep telling myself I get to live this life once, so I should make the most of it. I do not want to look back 40 years from now and regret not taking risks and doing a few crazy things while I could? So a few weeks from now I'm going to close my eyes and jump and pray like mad I'll land o.k!

And yes, I'll lots of pics for you all
