I had a lovely chat with the agent that is trying to sell the stone house I've been looking at, but between his accent, my accent and the cruddy phone line we decided taking the conversation to email may be better. This is the verdict on the house:

While the residence requires substantial refurbishment (possibly to include a new roof, rewiring, re plumbing, upgrading of septic tank etc), the property is priced to sell at a very reasonable level. However, it is up to any interested party to satisfy themselves fully of the suitability of the property before they make any offer. The property is for sale ‘as is’ so I would recommend that you investigate everything fully.

Hi Sumi, I know it sounds/looks like a bargain for the amount of money but there are a few questions. How much are you gonna have to put into it to make it livable. Are you gonna do the work or do you plan on contracting it out. Do you have a place to stay while the work is being done. I'd myself would like to see it in person first and I would still hunt for some other bargains especially if you'd rather be further south. I'd like to build a log cabin on the back of my land one day when I have the time.
