Love it! The mama comes out..or daddy. Our Missy, she is great around the chickens. She is great to have around out there, as we have many hawks fly over. Just them seeing her, keeps them away. Here is a photo of one of her future girls to watch over.

What an adorable pic she looks a great guardian of them. Mac was the same when we bred him to our other. After one week he did all the mothering of the pups barring the feeding. I'm sure our other dog the mother decided why have a dog and bark yourself!! All she did was feed them and a bit of cleaning up after. Then he popped in to finish up keep them warm and did all the playing as they grew. She was a bit of a witch really with them and not fussed he was doing all the work.

And not eating one of mine. I have a small..yes, Back Yard Chicken...flock. I know a lot of folks are able to have enough to eat. That would be ok with me if I couldn't keep track of all of them..and they didn't have names.

How could I eat these gals? Reba, and Miss Piggy
