Hey thanks Nicky! Did you work on the pallet swing?
Oh how well I know. I remember my grandmother ordering 100 chicks from the Sears catalog for 10 dollars (10 cents each). They would be delivered and she would close off the kitchen, fire up the oven and heat the kitchen to where you could just barely stand to go in it. The chicks were in a box next to the stove. I could hold one now and then but they were not toys and they were not pets. The loss of a single chick was a loss of income. I also remember her drawing a line around my foot on a piece of paper, mailing that paper and some small amount of money to Sears and a few weeks later I had a new pair of shoes. Sort of like magic.I remember Woolworths, the sears catalog even. I can remember 35 cent gallon of gas and you even got a toy when you filled up! I'm afraid those days are long gone Jon..
I think I was born too late. I feel like I should have been born around the 40's or even the 20's.
I have never heard of Woolworths...I had to google it![]()
