Tricia, that would be hard to figure out who to keep and who to let go. I hope you find good buyers for the ones you let go, ones that will give them a good home and take care of them. Maybe you have friends or neighbors that would want them?

Tricia, I'm so sorry to hear that. It's like choosing which child to keep! I do not envy you that task. You do sound as though you have a good plan. Good luck with your girls and may you find them all a good home, like your very own. Just in case you needed another.

I've had to do this a few times and it is heart breaking, just did it with 2 drakes hatched here  2&3 yrs ago, and I loved them so much but gosh trying to keep everyone from fighting and abusing the other girls. so I had to make a tough decision and re home 2 it was amazing I was able to find good homes for both and they weren't going to get eaten.

It's easy to get too many especially when you have hens that love to brood.OR we love to incubate. lol  one reason I will not by a bator. :/

Hopefully you'll find good homes for all of yours and feel better about having to give them up.

Thanks and yes it is funny how chicken math can take over. It wouldn't be a big deal if we were staying but our 86 year old landlord is making our lives miserable. So we are trying to fight them kickin us out before our lease is up. We have done nothing against our lease but the old timer has decided he no longer wants us here. He seems to be suffering from dementia, he tried to tell us he would be parking a friend of his in our front area of the property this past winter. He expected we would be ok with that and that we would allow this stranger to have access to our bathroom and kitchen. On top of that he thought we would dig her out when it snowed hard! We said heck no to that. Anyway, the guy owns the property and his family is somewhat involved. The son said he has no problems with us but his dad has decided we have got to go.
