So I have some sad news. My rooster died. Yesterday I was in such a hurry to let them out of the coop before church that I didn't bother to count them. Later that day I went out to give them some scraps, I was surprised that Zorro (my rooster) wasn't running out to share in the treats, so I went to look in the coop and found him. It didn't look like a predator got him (no signs of entry either), he was intact and he had his head tucked under his wing like he was sleeping. My guess is he died in his sleep, but he had showed no signs of being sick or dying the previous days. Doing all I can to boost the hens immune system and to make sure they don't get sick.
