Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

It is the domino effect in the good way.
When people say it is the thought that counts, that is what they mean.
a small kind gesture can fill you up.
thank you for sharing,

I was thinking of you last night, wondering how the not smoking was going.
How are you both?

We r doing well. I am on day 262 of my non smoking track. I have had a few slips, but that only because of dead batteries on my caper pen and lack of time to get new. Probably had 5-6 packs in this time, not bad for a 2 pack a day habit. I intend to stick it out and get off this pen too. Oh, and thanks for asking.

Your lungs will thank you.
I keep sending little mental energy in your and Sumi's direction.
I imagine it is a very difficult habit to stop.
You all deserve as much encouragement as possible.

Ken, thank you for sharing that! What a wonderful story. It's good to hear of people looking out for others and appreciating the military so much.

Great to hear about your non-smoking too! I slipped up bad after doing VERY well for a few weeks. The stress from waiting for the results from my surgery and having my smoker husband around was too much for me. I'm making an effort again though. I don't want to throw away all the effort and progress I've made over the last 4 months.

Ken, loved what you did. What goes around, comes around.

My husband was in the military too. 26 yrs. Now retired. Army. Here he is when he was a youngin. Didn't know him then. Was still in the Army when we met though. Anyone else have photos to share in your uniform..doesn't have to be dress. :)

Sumi, I forgot that you were also trying to quit smoking. Good luck to you and Ken on this. I have seen how hard it can be. Have a son that is pretty close to a yr. now without smoking. Smoked quit a bit too. I think having this new woman in his life, that doesn't smoke, has helped him a lot.

My dad and some uncles were in the military (Army) in South Africa, but I don't have pics of them to share. My mom has some, I think. I wanted to join the Air Force when I left school, but got talked out of it.

Good morning, woke up to a winter wonderland with 6-7 inches of snow....hope everyone is staying warm and has a great day.
