I loved the comments as much the people's reactions! Did I tell you we used to have a house chick that we raised and took everywhere with us? One day we were out and stopped at a fast food restaurant for burgers. Chick was with us, as usual. I felt mischievous so I asked the lady behind the counter if they have chicken burgers, she said yes and pointed to the board, so I said again, do they have chicken burgers and pulled my chick out of my pocket. She freaked out a bit and then burst out laughing and called all the kitchen staff to come look. They were awesome, they allowed us to sit at the table and eat with him and share our (beef) burgers with him. Everyone stopped and asked about him and some people did ask what he was! Amazing how many people don't know what a baby chicken looks like?
Great story! That must have been a lot of fun

It's amazing to me that some people don't know what a baby chicken looks like...even if they never had one, they're on Easter cards, in coloring books and story books, stuffed toys, etc. There used to be a thread about the dumbest things people have said about chickens & eggs. It was surprising to read story after story about people that would only eat store eggs, but not fresh eggs from a backyard flock. People are funny.
