This is true. But sometimes it’s still better to just not do it. I guess the trick is deciding when.

It's an interesting cultural and political phenomena.
One of the precepts that supports the British class system is a view that as long as one is 'nice' to people then one can carry doing whatever one wants within the law, mostly.
Of course this tends to stifle meaningful debate and supports the status quo.
