Sunrises are private, shown to the people who get up early enough to see them. Said quietly: "Oh, you're here? Well, look at this. Isn't it lovely?"

Sunsets are public displays. Shouted boisterously: "Hey everyone! Look over here! Ta da!"

Both are lovely, in their own way.
