“Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway

“Life is hard; it's harder if you're stupid

Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday

Women have the right to work wherever they want, as long as they have the dinner ready when you get home

If you've got them by the balls their hearts and minds will follow

A man ought to do what he thinks is right”

If everything isn't black and white, I say, "Why the hell not

Talk low, talk slow and don't say too much

A horse is a horse,it ain´t make a difference what color it is.”

Never say sorry - it's a sign of weakness

I stick to simple themes. Love. Hate. No nuances. I stay away from psychoanalyst's couch scenes. Couches are good for one thing

“The High and the Mighty,

I've had three wives, six children and six grandchildren and I still don't understand women

Get off your butt and join the Marines!”

Get off your horse and drink your milk

It's such an adrenaline rush. It's America's most extreme sport

My favorite:

I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I expect the same from them. -- John Wayne as John B. Books in "The Shootist"

He is and will always be my favorite actor. As a little girl, my great grandmother lived in Balboa, CA, where John Wayne had a home. I used to skip around the corner on hot days and play in his fountain in the front yard. His wife always brought me the BEST lemonade on the planet and talked with me. He was Mr. Marion and she was Mrs. Marion. I never knew for YEARS after that who he was. My great grandmother passed away when I was 10 and I never visited again, but once I found out who Mr. Marion was, I became a life long fan. People today couldn't nice or sweeter than those two were with a wayward child in their front yard fountain.
