I have a question that follows the same idea as this thread. More than likely I'm just stupid, but I know how to quote 1 persons comment in their thread but I have seen some people quote a person and the quote they quoted and I can't figure out how they do that can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

an example

sally I love byc

fred "sally said Iove byc"
I love byc too

george sally said i love byc
fred said I love byc too
me three

I can quot like fred but not like george if you can follow my line of thought....

Are you supposed to just click the multi or highlight and click it????? I haven't tried it lately but I tried both ways and the entire post never showed up on the comment area where I could type under it. I wonder if it was a short term web site problem or if I am just stupid.

I just hit the multi and hit the quote and I just got my comment and not KStaven's and mine. I guess I am stupid....

Is this perhaps because of the "Remove nested quotes in replies " function? You can check or uncheck this in your profile. Mine is checked, so when I quoted post #17 here, it did this. If I uncheck it, it will quote all of post #17.

I was certainly "stupid" about this for a while, before someone explained it, at which point I figured out what "nested quotes" meant, lol.
