R.I.P. Fred

So sorry about Fred, your memories will one day help ease the pain. He was a great protector of his ducks.
He loved his ducks. While they played in the water...he would be right by them playing in the dirt. Always following them around, or He would do his wing dance and herd them where he wanted to go. Draka and Duckles will definitely be missing their man!!!

We have coyotes, was even odder sounding if that makes sense. Hubby knows coyote noise, at first he thought chickens were going crazy. Very high screaming sound, coon maybe? Either way, very scary
My first thought was coon...but to kill and not eat??? Doesn’t make sense. Even a coyote would eat...you would think, anyways. I will be putting my trail camera out to see what returns tonight!!!

Hey there, sorry about Fred. I lost my Newman in March. Sounds a little weaselly to me-mink, ferret. I think a coyote or coon would eat it or there would be signs of bites. I understand that Florida has an Iguana problem.

The famous last chicken words 'what returns tonight"! That I think is the most scary part, it always comes back. I'm hoping since my chickens were not gotten to it won't come back!

I plan on getting the problem taken care of ASAP. I’m gonna use Fred’s wing, (I know, sorry, gotta use what works), to bait the trap. Whatever I catch will be put out of my misery quickly!!

Further south they do...I’m in the Jacksonville area. I haven’t seen any signs of mink/weasel/ferret/dog/coyotes/etc...not to say that they aren’t around...I just haven’t seen signs of them
