I am so sorry for you loss. I don't think some people have that animal connection that others do. I had a Belgian Sheepdog my sister let loose outside with her dog and he got hit by a car. He survived it, but had to undergo a couple of surgeries. I never let him off the leash where there was traffic, especially unattended. I know the anger you must be feeling. Like I said some people don't have that connection - you are a fortunate person to love animals so much and your animals are lucky to have you. Take care.
