Rabbit breeding question. **Problem Solved**

I'm not sure of either does age honestly. I don't know if the litters were back to back or not. I would assume that they were since this gentleman was having a field day selling the kits.

I won't get rid of her just yet, she's only been here a week. I'll just give her some more time and try some more. I appreciate everything guys.

Gypsy2621 may have nailed it. Does can be territorial. When you introduce them, do not introduce them in the does territory. Try it either in the buck's territory or a neutral site. Some of the other comments may be the correct answer, but I think this has a real possibility of solving the problem.

Good Luck!!

We've taken the doe to the buck every time. I will try nuetral territory later. Silly things. Depending on how they do with their litters, I'll decide who stays and who gets replaced.Who knows how inbred they are or whatnot, it might do them well to get some new blood in there.

put the buck in her cage and put her in his gace and then put her back with him in the am in her normal pen let them do there thing and then put him back.

I read a suggestion on a meat rabbit forum to place both the buck and doe in an open area. So I used a horse stall and let him chase her around. He successfully did his thing twice within 5 minutes. She was just being fickle and wanted to go on a date. LOL

To clarify, does do not go into heat. That would just make it too easy.

Actually, that's pretty much how I used to breed my rabbits. I had a circular wire fence 3 feet tall, just 3 feet high rabbit wire to build my cages strung out enough to make a large circle about 6 feet diameter. I didn't leave them alone for fear of escape or predators.

You'll often see the two "do a dance." The two tail to nose circle each other really fast a few times before mating. I think the small cages sort of deny them the chance to "court" in the way nature would have intended.

Well, just a thought. You'll probably be more successful in the future too since you've discovered this.

I have a playpen type setting that I will use in the future. I just didn't have it available at the moment because I'm selling many of my birds, so I have them all seperated into groups.

I made sure to block all possible escape of the doe, because we all know that buck wasn't going anywhere without her. LOL I stood there and watched them, laughed at the ducks who were loosing their minds. Those poor ducks(who are also housed in the stall) where running back and forth away from the rabbits who were courting each other. It was quite the comedy going on in the stall. A stampede of ducks would stumble by quacking and feathers flying, followed by a rabbit moseying along taking in the smells, followed by a second rabbit interested in the first and then repeat it all over again, since they all have no where to go except in a circle in the stall. LMAO
