rabbit cage from TSC

thanks for the reply! I agree about the side openings. I've watched my quail poke their heads out in curiosity but it doesn't seem to be fully functional.

still, for the price, not a bad cage- and with your super nice rack setup- quite a sweet little quail hotel!

I get how your not thrilled with it I hated my first cage too, but I kept trying and in the end I built one that I was really satisfied with. I say you should try again, because when you do build one, you have the satisfaction of the fact you built it and that you now know how to build cages for the future.

i've built over a dozen cages of various sizes and shapes this summer and they definately get easier and look better if you keep at it! the most important thing is getting your bends nice and crisp....i use a piece of wood and lay it over the wire i want to bend at and slowly start working it into shape, after the initial bend i go along the bottom with a hammer and gently tap it against the wood "guide" to get a nice 90 degree bend....just make sure your wood hasn't slipped or you'll be bending between the wires instead of on the wire you chose....this will make the whole thing not want to fit nicely. so far, i've been using "j-clips" to attach the pieces together, but i'd like to find something that crimps down a little tighter
