Rabbit frustration

Thanks for all the info. Ill give it another hour and see what happens. She still just has one. I wonder if 7 kits would be too many for one doe, although shes had a successful litter before, would i be better off taking two from the litter of 6 and adding them to the single kit with the new mother?

You can do that too if you want. My does raise 10 with no problems even 12 at times--but 12 is a little much. I have had does to have 14 and does to have 10 and I divided them 12 and 12 and both raise them. That's one reason for breeding several Does at the same time, but I had 4 bucks.

I dont think any of mine are purebred. One looks to be a chinchilla, one looks like a nzw and the other doe is black. My buck is kinda marked like a cali but not very well. Hes likely a cross.

The black one has been proven, the others have not. When i got the chinchilla i had her bred before i left and she didnt take. Im wondering if she will take this time. So far the black doe had 6 and the white doe had one. I went ahead and move 2 kits with the loaner to keep it warm. Im hoping smaller litter = more milk and faster growth. If the chinchilla doesnt kindle by monday shes off to freezer camp.

I am only interested in meat rabbits so I only use Californian's and New Zealand's.

Thats probably the route ill take as well. These were just too cheap to pass up.

I did get some of them cheap ones in the beginning---Not long ago I bought 10 dutch at a auction---feed them good and processed them. I keep my eyes open for really cheap to almost free nice looking rabbits. They make some cheap good eating-----for sure if I fix it like this----yep rabbit link sausage.
