Rabbit housing and feed

Quote:
I strongly disagree. Pellets are designed to provide 100% of the nutrition required for rabbits. A lot of expensive research is conducted to assure the correct proportions of protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals are present. Product is regularly tested to assure the labelling is correct. Incorrect labelling would be fraud.

I know many rabbit keepers who rely on an all pellet diet. Adding extra hay or vegetables would unbalance the balanced nutrition.

So the blanket statement that it is unhealthy is what I disagree with.

Now - on the other hand, if a person does not want to have dependence on the feed mills, feeding a variety of foods like hay, vegetables, fruits, grain, etc. can be done successfully.

Many people call it "natural" feeding.

Rabbits can also be kept healthy and happy in outdoor hutches. Read my article at the rabbitgeek website
http://www.rabbitgeek.com/outdoorhousingmay05.htm

And yes, our rabbits would do binkies (aerial spins) inside their cages.

Have a good day!

I respect other's opinions on this. It's YOUR rabbit..

But I disagree.

Feeding just pellets is unhealthy cause they'll just get fat.

Pellets give them the essential nutrients they need, But they only need a small amount of pellets.

Veggies supply a fresh version of these vitamens and minerals so they are needed to. Hay is totally

needed for their digestion and teeth.

What foods can they eat? - I feed mine the regular pellets along with plenty of grass and clover. For treats she gets bits of lettuce, celery, carrots, apples, strawberries, cucumber peelings, etc.
What's the minimum housing for Nethie's? - The answer to that, I do not know.

I have not had a rabbit that size...
What do you house your pet rabbits in? - Right now Hazel is in a wire rabbit cage in the chicken coop, but we're planning to move her to a wooden hutch.

I will go inform my rabbits of this right now.

I am just giving my opinion, how I think they should be fed, and what I've learned. Everything I've

ever read mentioned the importance of the diet.
