I found an old rabbit hutch on CL for $70, seems to be in good condition, wooden, and half of it is indoors, half outdoors. Anyone ever used one of these as an outdoor brooder for older chicks who don't need the heat lamp as much? I need to tell the guy asap is i want it.

what do you think?? Is it worth it? I like the fact that they could go indoors if they wanted to, i could add a perch in there...

If you have a Tractor Supply near you they have these same things brand new on sale for $99 until May 8th and it is for chickens. Their rabbit hutch is the same thing just with a different door. I got one to use for a couple of banties or as a hospital coop.

i don't, the closest one is over an hour away... not worth it really when you add in gas $ lol. what's the difference between rabbit/chicken ones?

Id' get it, will the door on the front open downward to be a ramp? If not you could easily make one and use it with an outdoor run. I live in the Atlanta area and I think that's a decent price. Of course I'd offer $50 first and negotiate from there.

Looks like that would work. If not you can always modify it a bit. Looks to be in nice shape. Not a bad price either.

I used a rabbit hutch last year and it worked great! It was a great transition before putting them in the coop.

The rabbit hutch would be great....a friend of mine actually converted a large rabbit hutch into her chicken coop, for her 5 girls! It is awesome!!!! Good luck!
