Hi all you bunny folk! I'm going to be getting a holland lop bunny hopefully next week and though it's not my first time it's been 10 years about since I last had a bunny. I know a bunch of things about bunnies but was wondering if anyone wanted to share some tips just in case!I also did read this entire thread and I would love to see pictures of how you have your bunnies set up inside and out!

I am about 2 get rabbits and am so excited!!!!!!!!

Any tips?
How much does spaying and nuturing cost?
And do rabbits have to be spayed and neutered?
And last, can I keep 2 females together?

HI . I have New Zealand White rabbit's 3doe and one buck (Coxman ) lol built a 20x10 rabbit hutch with individual cages in the middle. I have quail and pheasants in the same space loos they keep the poo down and eat all leftover feed. If u look on the ground u can't even tell I got rabbit's there lol they bird's do a great job. Anyway I had a litter on Christmas day 8 buns and a litter on January 27 and the last one had her litter on the 28th of January. I'm super excited and happy about it. My rabbit's each had 10 to 12 babies but only 8 , 8 , 7 survived . This is there second litter each. I have hade them over a year (the doe and buck) I'll put up pictures when I get better service. Any way. When there pregnant I take them in side to the nursery pens I built 2 separate 5X5 4 foot high pens. I move them there a week before they have there babies and start giving them milk supplements so it's easier on them to feed all the kits. The babies stay in the nursery pens for 4 weeks then I take them out side to the hutch with the mom they nurse for two more weeks out there. I found that with my girls if I separate the kits in to two nest very filled with hay they nursing both nest easer and the moms are less stressed. So each mom has 2 nest of her own babies. In her own pen. That's what works for us.

these are the 2 nursery pens. With the gravity fed watering bucket so they all ways have fresh water. I had to screw them together because my 5 month old black lab likes to chew on the hose so I put it in the middle and now she can't get it. And that's my husband checking on the kits. Lol

this is the outside hutch. You can see the floor stays rabbit poop free for the most part because of the birds. All so they all drink from the same gravity fed watering tank out side the pen. I have it piped all over . And the buck Coxman is in the smallest cage 36 x30 inches the girls have bigger ones I maid from scape metal and hard wire fence ing .
