Has anyone ever seen chicks figure out how to drink from a rabbit waterer where the end is blocked by a metal ball? I filled one up today and left it as an addition to their other water, and they figured it out. I was impressed!

If those things work with chicks, I may try it with some of my older birds. The nipple waterers just don't seem to give enough water to satisfy my older birds. They always, always seem thirsty.

That's what I am curious about! I was impressed that the little guys were able to use it.

I'm sure they put out more water than the standard chicken nipple waterers. Just might be more suitable for larger birds if I can find a larger bottle. I think they make these things for dogs for their crates. Those might have larger bottles.
