Nobody is saying that the thread should be converted into a meat/recipe thread. I think we're just trying to say that most people here aren't meat breeders. We don't care that people have conversations about meat productions or cooking, you do you, but for others trying to find information on the same topic, it will be harder to find while smothered with other pet and show posts. There are meat rabbit threads, and I know they aren't as active but it looks like there are quite a few here that would be interested... so make it an active thread again! I dunno, just giving my two cents.

They could make their own thread and then link it on here for the people that would like to talk about meat rabbits! :D

sorry for causing a big debate (not sure if you would call it a debate)

but hey this is all about rabbits, so i thought maybe i would run into some one who raises rabbits for meat as its simply just called rabbits, (not pet rabbits etc..)

but on topic how are jersey wooly rabbits for pets? are they nice? anyone raise one? can you groom them and sell there wool or hair like an angora rabbit (as my book tells me they have angora hair)

thanks and sorry for any debate that i caused :)

It's fine! :) Everybody has caused a debate in some how! :) Even if it wasn't on BYC! Lol!!! :lau Oh, and I don't know! I don't have one! I only have a California Rabbit and I know that he is so cute! :love I'll try to get a picture of him today, but just to let you know he has red eyes!!! :lau My Dad was scared of him at first, because when he was a kid he had watched a show with an evil bunny with red eyes, but I'm not sure what is called!!! :lau

i'm supposed to be breeding both. i've got lops and lionheads but i've also got a californian buck and three new zealand does. but i doubt that i or anyone in my family will ever be able to get past that face.

Its easy getting past the face once they dig out a few times or leave 12" scars on your arms. (Even when you're wearing the thickest jacket you own)

Really, don't worry about causing debate. I think we'd all get really bored without it! Even the back and forth arguments, umm I mean discussions generally provide some really good info. And that's not counting the entertainment value.
