Raccoon Help Please

We had NO idea it was illegal to trap the raccoon. Is it legal to shoot in city limits? Obama admin. is crazy about gun control. Better to call an expert. Don't want to be arrested for using your gun.
This has nothing to do with federal laws, and certainly nothing to do with the current federal administration. It's all about your local state and city laws. Every state and locality has its own laws on trapping and discharge of firearms. Most of these laws have been on the books for decades.

Absoutely!

Any empty can is enough to attract a coon or possum. I toss in tuna or cat food cans.Might put some dog food in the empty can.
I have a good traffic location that they even go in when there is no bait.

A trapper will charge about $50 to $150 to take the coon. You don't want to be transporting a poo covered trap in your car,and besides it is illegal to dump them. Just dispatch.

There are some fur trappers out there who are looking for land on which to trap. Note that legit trappers follow tight regulations- they inspect their traps every day, trap only during the right season (which differers state to state), use specific traps and bait to only catch the specific animals they and you agree to, and so forth. If you can find a good one they don't charge you, since they are in business to sell the pelts.

There are online forums similar to BYC (but, of course, not as large and maybe not as welcoming friendly) where you can learn about the trappers and perhaps find one.
