Raccoon? Missing chicken. Help!

Put a camera out last night, it came back and was a raccoon! Luckily the chickens were safe after securing the door to the coop but I know it will be back again tonight. We got a trap and can hopefully catch it before it gets another one. It was pretty big, I can’t believe it was able to fit in such a small hole!

Coons don't typically carry their prey off ,they only eat parts and leave a mess.I would look around for it corpse. A fox carries them off.You could have both.

I have watched a coon carry a chicken away with my own eyes. Takes a good size coon to carry away a chicken, but they will.
Take it away someplace safe and eat or taking it to others. Coon will eat feathers and all.

I certainly won't deny its possible as these are chicks. It wouldn't have a hard time dragging it out of the hole .Typically they leave a mess & a corpse. Could be either one.

Those are small birds, I can see a large raccoon eating a whole one. get electric netting.
