Raccoon or Skunk?

My small coop was attacked by a creature that left behind dark black poop, and pulled the neck of my rooster and left my hen headless. My hens breast was scooped out threw the wire and the neck was chewed on. My rooster is lifting his head a little and took some water but he was left in the sun. He is hanging on a thread an di have him inside. Please help me! It seems as if his neck has been streched far to wjere his craw is higher. Please help me figure out who did this and if i can help my baby!!

Raccoon. A skunk would just spray.

I think skunk as well. The portions of the bird attacked/eaten are exactly what raccoons eat. Skunks usually just prey on small, weak birds, or eat eggs.

Also, in regards to the smell, male raccoons are said to have a smell similar to that of a skunk. So that could be what you are smelling.
