I had a raccoon get into the feed in my barn. Saw holes chewed in the bag, so I put it in a plastic tote with a lid. Then it got into the pine shavings, although I don't know why.
One of my "extra" roosters had torn a hole in the clear reinforced top of the coop right above the roost, and this morning I found the raccoon trying to hide between a roosting bar and a wall with lots of chickens feaking out. I harassed it enough to get it into an upper corner where it looked like it was scared enough to stay for a while, and went to get my .22.
Immediate problem solved, now to fix the hole and lay some plywood under the tarp. Unfortunately, that means a dark coop, as it's already inside a barn and only has one window, facing north. Will have to add a few more windows/vents, I guess.
