A racoon just attacked my 2 year old silver laced wyandotte. She is still alive and there is no blood but lots of missing feathers. 1/2 of her beak the lower half she cant move it, only the top half moves, one of her eyes is sealed shut it looks like she might have lost it but I cannot tell, the lid looks indented but no blood, she just passed some poop and an egg yolk with a broken half formed shell in it. must have been broken in the attack. lots of missing feathers but no blood anywhere. She can still make clucking sound!
not eating and drinking yet it just happened she is still in severe shock. the poop was regular but with an egg yolk and 1/2 an egg shell. I have not treated her at all yet she is inside in a box resting. SLightly wheezing breaths but I cant tell if there is any internal injuries.
I want to treat her. We don't have any vets around here that treat chickens. I am more worries about the broken egg and 1/2 shell than anything. What can I do immediately to help her and prevent egg yolk petronitis?!?!
please help she is in pretty good shape given the attack I want to save her and help her!
