Racoon got my hen's leg

Two nights ago a raccoon got a hold of my hen’s leg through the bottom of her hutch. Her leg is now slightly swollen, has a brownish green look to it and her upper leg is de-feathered and raw. The skin doesn't seem to be infected but it doesn't look good. I've been cleaning the wound with a mixture of saline solution and peroxide and rubbing triple anti biotic medicine on it. I’m also putting antibiotics in her water.

She's eating and drinking and hopping around on one leg.

Other than keeping her quite and the wound clean, is there anything else I can do?

Sounds like you are doing all you can do. Hope you catch that raccoon tho because he will keep coming back until you get rid of him or that has been my experience they sure are cute but a chickens worst nightmare. Hope she feels better soon

I have the coon trap out but so far it hasn't been back?

This is my first time having chickens and I've gotten attached to them and made them pets. So... I want help my girl recover!

I've already gotten rid of the chicken wire and put in 1/4 inch wire. No more large wire for me ever!

Chicken wire is ok, but not near where they sleep. I always reinforce the edges around sleeping areas. I learned the hard way too.
