Radios and lights deterring predators?

Hi,

Just wondering if putting solar lights and a radio out by the chickens might work to deter predators.

Any thoughts?

I dunno about deterring predators, but you may have dancing chickens in the morning!

I know that when my grandpa tried this with the sweetcorn patch, the coons got accustomed to it after a few nights. But I do wish you the best! Good luck!

in my sweet corn I think all it did was give them music and candle light to dine by. no affect at all. Put up a electric wire and never lost another ear of corn.

I know for sure lights do not work. I shot my last racoon eating my cat's food directly under the motion detector light that was ON....!

Have an always on halogen light in my back yard and it only made it easier for the coons and possums to find their prey (my stray chickens) in the tree.

I do leave a radio tuned to a talk show on all night in the barn because I have a duck sitting. Don't know if it deters anything or if the horses do.
