So I first thought rafiki was an Australian pit game but now that all her feathers have grown back and she’s been fed a proper diet I’m unclear on what breed she is...
lve posted before and after photos so you can all see the difference in her and hopefully help me work out her breed....

and yes it is the same chicken...

If she's not a mix (depends partly on where she came from) I'd guess Black Sex Link, I was thinking maybe Australorp or another medium-ish black bird but I see some red near her neck/face which makes me think BSL or maybe Marans but if I recall correctly BBS Copper colored Marans are supposed to have lightly feathered legs and hers look nice and clear : D

Where did you get her from?
She was bought “saved” from a produce place that sells all sort of farm stuff from chickens to horses and everything in between she was the only black one there and she was kept in a small cage with about 20 other chickens (isa browns mainly) who were picking on her and plucking her tail and bum feathers.... she was in quite poor health as you can see from the 1st picture (that was taken the day we brought her home)

Yes she has red/orange flecks through the feathers on her neck and around her head... her main feathers are a blue/black/green/purple colour depending on the angle of the sun....

I have no guesses and know practically nothing about chicken breeds.

I just want to commend the wonderful job you are doing restoring her health.
