Ragnhild the Ex-Battery Hen, Before & After

On 2nd June I took on 6 ex-battery hens who had been rescued that morning by the British Hen Welfare Trust from going to slaughter. They have been an absolute joy, although one sadly passed away in October (but I like to think that at least she had 4 happy months).

The weakest of the bunch was Ragnhild and I thought I’d share this ‘before and after’ comparison photo - the day she arrived compared to today. She has been slow to recover but I am delighted to see how much she has improved.

I highly recommend rescuing ex-battery hens if you have the opportunity.

That's so great, we as the human race should never treat living creatures in such away it should be so illegal everywhere
