Rain! Aggh!

Dealing with the swamp in my backyard in Ohio too. Made the mistake of wearing my work clothes out this morning to open the chicken doors, thought I would be OK with knee high rubber boots on. Noooooooo, must have walked too fast, came back in with mud splashed up past my knee.

Had to do an emergency clothing change, wear pants that were wrinkled and a little too tight in the rear, and attend an important meeting with all the big bosses at work today.

Lesson learned. Need to buy waders for spring chicken care.

My "I HATE RAIN" vibes must have worked, because rain turned to snow this evening.

I am in Vermont where we have we have 6 seasons a year, Summer, Fall, Stick, Winter, Mud and Spring. Stick season is when all the leaves are off the trees and there isn't any snow yet so all you see inthe woods is sticks, Mud season is when the surface starts to melt but the earth below it hasn't thawed out yet so the top few inches of dirt and water mix to ake MUD! We have had a very cold winter so the frozen earth is deep and we have also had a bunch of snow and now we are getting some rain so when it all melts I think we are in for a chalenging MUD season this year. Thankfully my property has a slope to it and it all drains into my pond AND thankfully I dirve a Subaru. It's the official state car of Vemront. You're not in the club if you don't have one.

OK, just saw this. I'll take the blame. We're getting a lot of rain here too, but I think we are better equipped for it.

Just a couple notes on rain from Western Washington AKA the "Swamp"

I grew up in the middle of a Tongass rain forest. It gets real rain there. About 13 feet a year. Makes all the rest of the country look dry by comparison. Well maybe except for the a close second, the Hoh rain forest, here in the "Swamp"

When I was in my early 20's, my grandmother, who lived in Las Vegas, called my mother and told her to tell me that I had to move. Because everyday the weather report said it was raining in Seattle.

Remember if you want to picnic in a rainstorm, just bring a tarp. Lol, That's the way we did it back home.

Imp- and no bumpershoots, they are just tacky.
