Rain and chickens??

My chickens love the rain as long as it is not coming down like a bullet!

Thanks SO much everyone!! And Cheyen thanks for the info!! She's def an Easter Egger then! So what color eggs do THEY lay??

Some of my chickens won't come out of the coop if it's raining even a little bit. Others won't stay IN it! I have two or three hens in particular who would rather be out in the rain than on a sunny day, and I'm sure no small part if that is all the goodies that pop up out of the ground when there's a good shower.

My chickens dont mind the rain but it funny when they all run for cover.lol

Easter eggers lay anything under the sun! From green, blue, white, brown, aqua, olive, and sometimes even pink. I really, really want one.

Why get just one? If I could only have one kind of chicken, I'd have nothing but Easter Eggers. I love them! :D

Haha, we've already got 11 permanent chickens, and 30+ that we intend to sell. Plus, we're starting up rabbit and partridge breeding. No room for more chickens until the ones we need to sell are gone.

We bought 5 EE chicks our second year of chicken keeping. We still have three of the original 5, bought an EE roo last year (who is just GAWJUS), and 5 more EE chicks this year. I also plan on breeding my own EE's soon--I purchased an Ameraucana cockerel and will be crossing him with a variety of lovely ladies when he comes of age, and I've already hatched several eggs from my EE hens (plus those sired by the EE roo). There's a lot of fluffy faces in my flock!

But we've gotten off subject! lol

Sounds too cute! If any of your EEs are blue layers, you can breed it with a dark brown layer such as a marans, and the resulting chicks will produce olive green eggs. Olive eggers!
