Rain! Rain! I'm so sick of it!

We got 5inches yesterday! Our road flooded, by neighbor's yard was under water. My ducks are in heaven. Out there just quacking away and swimming in their run. Not in the pool-their run! I shouldn't complain. We have been in a drought for over 2 years. Hay was so expensive! Our foundation was showing signs of stress. Now I want a boat. It'll have to big a big one to accomodate all of my babies!

We had the 2nd wettest June in recorded history! The water company sent us a letter saying we were still under watering restrictions! I couldn't believe it. They said the area was growing to quickly and they could not provide us with enough water if we came off of water restrictions. That's strange to me.

Bad part of all this-my dh bought me a clothes line and can't even put it up. Not that I could use it right now. I've always dreamed of having my clothes dried on a clothes line. Something about resorting to the ole' days that makes me smile.

We FINALLY got a good rain last night after 2 weeks of nothing -thank goodness because nothing is worse than dry conditions and fireworks!

Happy 4th

I have heard a couple of fireworks already - and I'm wondering how FOOLISH these people REALLY are..... there is not a green blade of grass for MILES, well some yards that are watered endlessly - its so dry, I'm seriously worried about all the PLANNED fireworks tonight!
We had three fires on the weekend, one burned 100 acres!

This was my front yard this month...............it is now soaked in and we had the first "dry"day in over 20 days here......is nice....wish I could send this to you all in the drought states.....last year we fried also.this year we nearly drowned.....

Ditto on the drowning. But it looks like it has finally let up. We got 10" in one week here and one of the wettest Junes on record. Not exactly which last I heard 4th wettest but that was after 14 days of consecutive rain and I think we had 21 days of rain. So far we are 3 days with none and I think the heat and dry are coming.

Well so sorry for all of you burning up. Wish we could share a little with you all. Know the feeling, we burned up for several years in a row untill this year.

joanm, you can send some that rain a little further east LOL!
Yall have been getting it all. It's been like the deadzone here in N.E. La, we've had a couple of showers last few evenings, but we need more. Our bayou is 1 1/2 ft. below the norm. But hey atleast it's a break from the heat.

After two years of "no fireworks" and "burn bans" because of drought, the scheduled fireworks in several area towns was called off because of flooding! We've now, as of June 30, had more than the average annual rainfall for our area. My yard has been underwater for several days (down a bit now after a day of sunshine yesterday), and the sand I put in the run for my chickens has all washed away. If the rains continue, the Red River (at 18.7 feet today - flood stage is 22 feet) will probably overflow. Advisory issued to move all livestock to higher areas and make plans in case the river does overflow. And we have 3" forecast for the next 24 to 48 hours for a huge area. Wish we could share with others in both directions from here. Weird weather, isn't it?

Gosh I can't even remember when last we had rain, I'm sure our rainfall total is at like an inch for the year if that!

I SO wish I could share with everyone. It rained all day yesterday. 70 percent chance through Friday and 50 for the weekend. The past two years we've had a rain deficit, I spent most of my time running around my yard with water sprinklers just to halfway keep it alive! BTW, it just started raining again! Big downpour..UGH!

The good thing is we haven't had triple digit temps. The high today is only supposed to be 83.
