I have something very similar in mind. I ordered 2 of the water spouts on-line, and they look identical to that in your picture. I have a barrel, that actually looks pretty identical also except that it has "Barrels $10" written on the side. My concern is that it contained a biodegradable soap used by a car wash. If I wash it thoroughly, will this still be harmful to my chickens? If so, I have another contact that sells food grade barrels used to carry soft drink syrup.

The car wash near my house gives it's barrels away, they wash them out and you can take as many as they have.
